Bangkok Art And Design Library Emporium

Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC) is an art and product design library organized by the Thai Government’s Office of the Prime Minister. There are four locations throughout the world; New Your City, Milan, Cologne and Bangkok.

Here in Bangkok, TCDC is located on the sixth floor of the Emporium Shopping Center. I had a chance to visit it recently and was impressed. This is a fair size library, about 2000 square meters. 

You have about 15,000 books related to art and design. 

Some of the books I was browsing were “Origami Design Secrets” by Lang, “People in Vogue, A Century of Portraits” by Robin Derrick, "Digital Photographer’s Handbook" by Tom Ang and “The Digital SLR Handbook” by Michael Freeman.

There are more selections of Art & Design books here than any other bookstores.

There are plenty of magazines (about 200) here covering art, design and photography.

You also have computer online facilities located on long tables for members.

Some other interesting services here are the jazz recitle session and the multimedia rooms.

The decor for this library is modern and elegance. You have Doitung open coffee shop right in front of it. Doitung is the local Starbuck. Their décor blends with the library quite well.

The atmosphere of the two sections is very comfortable.

I really recommend this place for everyone who enjoys art & design, photography and other related subjects to stop by here and walk about. Most of you are visiting the Emporium already, so take a walk up stair to the sixth floor.
