The street seems to get narrower as you move southtward from Rachadamri road. Soi Tonson (pine tree) has two lanes only, one way in and one way out.
This is the shadiest street in Bangkok, due to the pine trees and other oak-like trees lining up on the east side of the street next to a small canal. Unfortunately, the sidewalk is very narrow as well; less than a meter long.
Starting from the entrance of the soi on Ploenchit Rd., there is a tall commercial building on the southt side. Next, you have Mulberry International School, a high class apartment, the Netherland Embassy(occuping a quarter of the block) and Sintorn Commercial Building. There's also a narrow canal on this side of the street.
On the north side of the street you have a nice apartment complex, few business offices, a French Restaurant and a well known Italian restaurant, Pisano. There were some local vegetable vendors here and there as well. Houses on this side of the street have many trees and shrubs; some of them have nice modern architecture.
There are some connecting streets to Soi Langsuan and Wireless Rd. This makes it very convenient to go to Soi Langsuan and Wirless Rd. without going to Ploenchit Rd. first.
The atmosphere here is very residential; quite and very shady. It is fine for a family with children in grade school.
Lastly, it's not too far from Bangkok Chidlom Road, where you can find Central Department store, a luxury shopping center.
