You can find one of the best condos on Bangkok Rachadamri Road
Neighborhood I Rachadamri Rd., Ploenchit Rd.
This area is pretty much the center of town and it has one of the nicest residential neighborhoods in Bangkok. Starting with Rachadamri Road from the corner of Rama I to Lumpini Park.
Ploenchit Road
This road is analogous to Singapore’s Orchard Road. You have high class shopping centers on both sides of the street namely, Central Chidlom Department Store, Gaysorn Plaza, Soko Department Store and HomePro Department Store. You also have Starbucks, McDonald and Burger King. After an early morning walk along Rachadamri Road and Lupini Park you can stop by Starbuck for a cup of coffee. You will see some local jogging enthusiasts here.
Chidlom Skytrain station here has a walkway connecting to Central Chidlom Department store directly. You will appreciate this when you have to climb a 3-stories high staircase to any Skytrain platform. Central Chidlom is Bangkok’s version of Bloomingdale.
Mater Dei Catholic School is situated opposite (not directly)Central Department Store. This historical site was built on an 18 rai parcel of land (a nice green area in the heart of the city) during 1927 by Sister Bernard Mancel of the Ursuline Order. This is the first international school offering kindergarten level. Today, this property worth at least 2 billion baht. This is a school for upper crust classes of Bangkok. In the early morning of any weekday you will see rows of Mercedes and BMW's bringing students to the school’s front gate on Ploenchit road; causing considerable traffic jams. Regardless, it has added charm and prestige to this already first class neighborhood. Rachadamri Road
Rachadamri Road on the one side has the widest sidewalk around,
about 3-4 meters. It also lined up with tall trees, something
like oak. It is cleaned and well managed.
Rachadamri Road on the one side has the widest sidewalk around,

This is a kind of sidewalk where one would enjoy walking
early in the morning or at the end of a busy day.
It is something like a little “Park Avenue” in New York.
On this one side you also have some expensive hotels
and a prestigious shopping plaza, the Penninsular Plaza.
This shopping plaza is the first few classy plazas
established over 20 years ago and it still maintains
its charm today.
There are some government buildings, a well known
educational institution, American University Association
and a few nice condos.
On the north side of Rachadamri Road you have the Royal Sports Club, featuring a golf course and a racetrack; horse of course. The turf is always green all year round. So this is a view from a condo on the south side of the street.
Then to top it all off, you have the SkyTrain running along this road; providing one stopping station here; having platform with escalators.
What makes Rachadamri Road unique? Properties along this road belong to the Crown and managed by the Crown Property Management. This means strict rules are applied regarding building projects and constructions; first rate all the way.
Langsuan Road
This road is one block south of Rachadamri Road. Here, you have condos and apartments on both sides of the street. There are some Italian restaurants;La Romanina, and Pan Pan, Chinese restaurants; Lumba Lumba; Coffee Shops; The Ninth Caf? and Starbuck, cheap local side walk caf? and noodle dishes restaurants, Groceries; 7-Eleven.
The restaurants mentioned above decorate their front sections well with green plants and bushes.
You also have a few boutique gift shops and a few banks.
You have an extra wide street here, a four-lanes well paved one-way. Unfortunately there are sections of the sidewalk in need of repairs (the east side of the street). For over 50 years this street is where many expats came to stay. If you feel comfortable living in an international atmosphere, then this street is it. Your spouses and children may find friends from the old country here.
