Sapan Taksin Skytrain Station

There’s a Chao Phaya River pier right there; next to it a nice office building and a nice hotel with the river view.

Walk southward on the access road to the Skytrain Station, you reach Charoenkrung Rd.. This is an older business district of Bangkok; you have rows of local shops; jewelry shops (gold shops), tailors, bakeries, fruits stand, few banks, and old pond shops.

There are no condos about the SkyTrain station.

Charoenkrung 50

This is a Soi filled with jewelry and other shops; across from it is and old market. And at the end of the Soi, you have and office building right by the river; I used to work in this building for four years when I first came here.

A Robinson Department Store is an ankor of this Soi; during lunch time, office workers flood the department store for meal and shopping, myself included.

There is no condo here, but there is a nice apartment next to Robinson. It’s not too bad staying there. However, this is not a residential neighborhood.

Charoenkrung 46

It’s an old Soi with lots of old shops. No condos.

On the main Charoenkrung Rd. there are tons of jewelry (gold shops), few more pond shops, noodle restaurants, roast duck restaurants, eyeglass places, and more banks.

Charoenkrung 44

It’s another old Soi with lots of old shops in old buildings. Some of these buildings are over 100 years old. These buildings should be preserved. No apartments/condos.

Charoenkrung 42 1/2

This Soi is an access road to a hotel by the river. Here, you have more jewelry shops, tailors, a nice looking boutique hotel, a Bhuddhist Temple, an a nice condo right by the river. It’s OK here. Still, it’s not a residential neighborhood. But for business stay, I think it’s all right.

Charoenkrung 42

You have lots of local shops and no apartments or condos. However, if you go across the street, there is one big condo complex. Near the condo, you have more old buildings.

This building is a pond shop; it must be at least 100 years old, and it has been somewhat restored. I wish more of them would be restored.
