Would like to stay in the center of town... This situation calls for a more formal setting. You want to impress your contact in Thailand. You want to have an environment whereby it is quiet enough to discuss and negotiate business, mostly at a preliminary level. Depending on whom you are meeting, if you are meeting the president of a company here, then pick a more luxury hotels below; if you are meeting the president at his company, then you may pick the less expensive ones below or above. For attending a meeting & seminar This one is easy. You can stay almost anywhere close to a subway system. You usually are listening for presentations all day and then getting a chance to party most of the night. Necessary to be in the center of town...
For business presentation to a large audience This one is more critical. Since you are planning to make presentations to a large audience, you need to book the right hotel in advanced. You need to determine how big the audience is going to be. Then you have to decide to serve lunch or not. If you cater to an IT audience, then they like an all-day session with lunch in between. Otherwise, from morning till twelve, then they would go back to the office. Most of them do not like the afternoon session only. I don’t like the afternoon session only.
