Neighborhood IX.1 - Start with Silom Road South
Overall, this neighborhood deserves a 3.5 stars with Sections of Saladaeng Rd., a definite 4.0. Silom Road South near Rama IV Rd. is also an active shopping area.
Convent Road has an electronics gadget store, a big office building, tons of restaurants, a nice boutique hotel and an apartment, and a well known Catholic school. Soi Pipat 2 has regular traffic, with few homes, executive apartments, condos, and a hotel.
Soi Silom 3 has Bangkok Bank Headquarter at the entrance, a Chinese Restaurant,and more office buildings. Soi Silom 5 is known colloquially as “Money Vaporizer Soi”. One can spendquite a bit here at this unique flee market. Nara Thiwas Rajanagarindra Rd. has Standard Chartered Bank at the corner of Sathon plus other office buildings.
Soi Sin Chula Saweg is a narrow Soi connecting to Soi Silom 5 's unique flee market. There's an old condo there. Soi Sathon 8 has an apartment and few local restaurants. Soi Sathon 6 has plenty of high rise office buildings; Citi Bank, few nice condos, an executive apartment, townhouses, and private homes.
Soi Anglo Plaza (Off of Surawong Rd.) has Jim Thomson (a nice Thai Silk shop) factory outlet. On Soi Anuman Rachathon (Off of Surawong Rd.) you have ThaiSmuth Insurance building and Blue Square Tower; no condos or apartments. Nara Thiwas Rajanagarindra Rd.(Corner of Surawong Rd.) has message/spa parlors.

At Silom Road Corner of Nara Thiwas Rajanagarindra Rd. , there's an ITF office building; few steps beyond that there ‘s a flower shop. Soi Silom 10 is private and no condo. Soi Silom 8 has mostly local shops; a travel agency, a Mexican Food place. Soi Silom 6 has no condos or apartments. Soi Silom 4 has few bars and restaurants; there's no condos. Silom Rd.(Corner of Silom & Rama IV Rd.) you have Robinson Department Store and McDonald.
Surawong Road is perhaps as old as Bangkok. What it’s noted for is there are some nice antique shops here. Soi Suksan (Off of Surawong Rd.) has no condos or apartments. Sap Road (Off of Surawong Rd.) has a nice antique shop at the corner.
Soi Suwan Sawat (Off of Rama IV Rd.) is an old Soi with few old shops in very old buildings. On Rama IV (Corner of Witthayu Rd.) you have Suan-Lum Night Bazaar, Nothing is interesting in Soi Pluk Chit (Off of Rama IV Rd.) . It is nothing like Silom Road South.
South Sathon Road (Corner of Rama IV) has rows of high rise office buildings. Sathon 1 has the Q-House Lumpini Office Complex on the left; no condos I like.
