Sukhumvit Soi 14 Is A Gem

Neighborhood III-Sukhumvit Soi 14,3,5,7,1

Sukhumvit Soi 14 (Soi=side street)

Sukhumvit Soi 14 is a gem. It's mostly populated by nice older homes on both sides of the street. There is one very nice condo. These homes have plenty of green shrubs and tall trees. You also have few local shops and a Thai restaurant at the beginning of the Soi.

Walk pass the first 40 meters and it’s nice and quiet all the way to the end of the Soi. Again, no side walks at all; quiet traffics.

East side of Sukhumvit Road

Sukhumvit Soi 1

This is a busy Soi. You have all kinds of commercial buildings; local shops, Seven Eleven, large Leather goods store, a prominent art gallery, office buildings, boutique hotels, condos, a German restaurant, an Italian Restaurant, a fancy spa, and an international hospital (Bumrungrad).

You do get a constant flow of traffics both ways to the hospital. It’s OK for short stay, but not for long stay, unless you love busy environment.

On Sukhumvit main Rd., you have quite a few food vendors (on carts) and a large KFC Drive-In, a Pizza Hut, and a Large Commercial Bank Complex with Tops Supermarket. Some sections of the sidewalk are in poor condition, but passable. You do have most things nearby without a park.

Sukhumvit Soi 3

It’s a very busy street; a one way four-lanes with a constant stream of traffics all day long. You have all kinds of shops, large and small. There are Arabian restaurants, a large bank headquarter, a few hotels, apartments and business offices.

On the main Sukhumvit Rd, there is a Tony Roma’s restaurant, a Bookazine (bookstore), and a Starbuck Coffee shop.

A short-term stay to conduct business here is Ok, otherwise look elsewhere.

Sukhumvit Soi 5

Here we have another hectic narrow street. You have large and small shops galore; Foodland Supermarker (open 24 hr.), a large Thai restaurant, other restaurants, few Seven Elevens, local shops and a few condos. You also have a few large hotels, a few houses and a prominent law firm. This Soi is definitely not for a long term stay.

Sukhumvit Soi 7

This street is much quieter than the previous few, with the exception of two beer bars near the front of the Soi. One hundred meters down the Soi, you start to have some green tall trees. There are some nice condos on both sides of the Soi with a Best Western Hotel under construction.

The entrance to the Nana BTS subway station is right at the beginning of the Soi; a nice short walk to the station. The traffic is rather light here. The environment is quiet enough for a long stay.
