Sukhumvit Rd. and the beginning of Soi 2 you have JW Marriott Hotel. This is a big hotel. 25 meters from the beginning of Soi 2. On the north side you have the Ploenchit Center, you have Starbuck, Haagen-Daz, and few other fast eateries.
So in the morning you can walk across the street from the hotel to these places. McDonald is on the other side of Ploenchit Center.
Soi 2 beyond JW Marriott is quiet enough, you have another hotel, a few condos, an Italian restaurant and service apartments. There are a number of large homes with white concrete walls and plenty of green shrubs on both sides of the street. Sidewalks on both sides of the street need some repairs and cleaning. It’s less than 10 minutes walk to the Ploenchit BTS subway station. Sukhumvit Soi 4
Sukhumvit Soi 4 is rather a busy street. From the beginning of the soi, you have a gas station, and a number of local shops on both sides including quite a few open pubs and bars.
These shops and bars go on for 150 meters deep. It is a bit too lively at night once the bars and pubs opened; definitely not a family with children type environment. This front end is like a little entertainment district.
On Sukhumvit Rd. you start to have street vendors right on the sidewalk selling T-shirts and other gift items; clogging up the side walk a bit.
