There are few small local shops including a karaoke at the right entrance; in the left, you have a canal stretching deep into the Soi, with a tiny sidewalk along side of it.

Sukhumvit Soi 40 is wide and there is a two-lanes fast traffic going into it. Thirty meters from the right entrance, you have a large condo construction site (should be done by 2008). Beyond that you have mostly private homes with concrete fences.

There are few more condos 600 meters from the entrance, Soi Suk Chai (a side street off this Soi).

This Soi is relatively clean with few green (shrubbery). It has a bland look.The only concern I have is the two-lanes fast moving traffic, due to it’s a shortcut to Rama IV Road. So, I would say this is tolerable but don’t do any morning stroll. Thonglor BTS SkyTrain is close to the entrance.

There is a fast two-lanes traffic coming out of the Soi into main Sukhumvit Rd; this is a direct shortcut to Rama IV Rd. At the entrance, you are greeted with a large condo complex under construction (should be done by 2008) on the right. On the left, it’s the construction site’s temporary equipment storage.

Further down on the left side, you have two more high-class condo complexes under construction. The sidewalks are adequate.

There are few older private homes here; some of them seem ready to be torn down to make way for more condo projects.

There are a 40-story Office Tower, a factory, a gas station, an executive club, few more local shops, a laundry place, and a shortcut to a hospital.

The sidewalks are wide enough and relatively clean. The atmosphere is more business than residential, but the condo near the entrance looks very convenient. So, I would say this Soi is tolerable.

The Soi is short, about 100 meters deep; behind the street vendors you have few more local shops and a company office. Let’s skip this Soi. There are no suitable condos or apartments here.
