Sukhumvit Soi 47

Sukhumvit Soi 47 have a modern furniture shop at the right of the entrance. Further down on the left, you have a Mercedes repair shop and an interesting Thai-Eastern restaurant. The Soi is clean and wide with decent sidewalk for the first 150 meters; for the next 100 meter, it gets narrower.

The Soi is occupied mostly by large private homes; one of which has an armed soldier guarding it; no doubt, it has to belong to someone of importance.

There is a nice apartment and condos worth considering at Sukhumvit Soi 47. Don’t overlook a cute coffee shop, a hobby shop and an international kindergarten.

Sukhumvit Soi 49

There is a seamtress for a lady fashion at the right at the entrance, and few local shops on the right with rows of parked shuttle vans in front of a Seven Eleven.

Most of this Soi are made up of large homes and some condominiums.

This Soi is narrow with adequate sidewalks on the first 100 meters; beyond that it gets to uncomfortable for me to walk. There is a constant traffic here.

The Soi is torelable.

Sukhumvit Soi 51

There is a large modern furniture shop on the right of the entrance. The Soi is narrow with adequate sidewalks. Walk carefully on the last 100 meter; the Soi’s sidewalks practically disappear.

There are few Japanese karaokes on the left after 10 meter from the entrance. Beyond that, you have a barber shop, a condominium for rent, and an office building. There are a number of large homes on large plot, small homes on small plots. There are also a large and modern International school, more office buildings, an apartment, a European restaurant and a steak house.

You have enough green to be shady. This Soi is fine. It’s clean and relatively quiet, but walk carefully about the end of the Soi (before turning left or right).

Sukhumvit Soi 53

You have a big international preparatory & secondary school on he left corner of the entrance; it occupies about 2500 square meter. Almost next to it you have a cute book store.

You have adequate sidewalks; the left side is wider. It’s clean with few street vendors.

You have quite a few large homes here; one of them looks like a Japanese castle and opposite this home you have a Japanese restaurant. I think a few apanese are in the area.

There are some office buildings and a few condos as well.

This Soi is OK but not as quiet as the previous one.

Sukhumvit Soi 55

This is a large and wide Soi with a six lanes two-ways traffic. It looks like a sister to the main Sukhumvit Rd. You have adequate sidewalks with all kinds of large and small shops including few jewelery shops.

At the right of the entrance, there is an old side street fresh market which as been here for the longest time.

There is a large condominium right on this Soi worth considering.

There are few side streets in this Soi also, where you can find some more condos. You have quite a few Korean and Japanese estaurants, an Italian restaurant, a Sizzler along this Soi as well as local Thai and Chinese restaurants.

There is an interesting foundation here, The Preedee Panomyong Foundation. Preedee Panomyong was a significant contributor to the democratic efforts in Thailand in its early days.

You have a business atmosphere here but not as hectic as Sukhumvit main road or Soi Asoke. It’s like going down Main Street of some Upstate New York middle size towns.I have no major complaints.
